About the Speaker : Lee Sangheon received a master's degree from the Department of History at Sogang University. 

And he is currently studying in the doctor's course at the same school. 

The title of master's thesis is “The Acceptance of Prison sentence and Change of Exile penalty’s nature in the Late Period of Joseon”. 

And the main historical material analyzed is 『Sabuppumbo(司法稟報)』, 

an official document from the late Joseon Dynasty. Through this thesis, he attempted to investigate changes in the penal system 

of the late Joseon and its meaning by analyzing the combination of imprisonment and exile. Future research will focus on the 

systems and operational aspects of criminal justice in the late Joseon and the process of disappearance of exile during the Japanese colonial period.
